Hello everyone! My name is Molly and this is where I am going to be sharing all of my learning with you. So be sure to keep checking in! :)

TERM 3

During our reading groups I have chosen to do an activity called ' Open minded portraits '. This is an activity where you draw a picture of a character from the book that you are reading or have already read, cut it out and then write their thoughts, feelings and questions on 3 separate sheets of paper that are the same shape as your drawing that you cut out, then staple the pages together. I chose to draw Katniss from one of my favourite books ' The Hunger Games '. I have not yet taken a photo of it to post yet but I will try and take one as soon as I can!

Age: 10 / 15

Rating ( haven't finished reading yet. ) 7 / 10.

When Eragon, a young farm boy discovers a blue stone in the middle of the forest one day, he thinks that this is just a lucky find. But he soon finds out that it is not a stone, it's an egg, a Dragon's egg. Overnight his normal, simple life becomes a dangerous adventure. Can Eragon become the legendary Dragon rider? The fate of Alagaesia is in his hands.

This book is a very interesting book so far and I'm really enjoying it. I can't wait to read the rest of the series after I have finished this one.

My Goal: to use more expression in my voice while reading.

This helped me complete my goal because:

I could hear myself reading into the microphone so when I played it back I could hear what areas i needed to work on, this meant I could determine how much expression i used in my voice.


Fotobabble is a good tool to use because:

It is easy to use and it can help me reflect on my expression, volume, clarity and fluency. I'll be able to use it in future projects.

Explain the task:

In this task we had to form into groups and choose a picture story book to read, after we had read the book our group had to create an online quiz for it.

What did you enjoy most about this task?

I enjoyed working with my friends and thinking up ideas for the questions for our quiz.

What was your biggest challenge?

Developing the questions to use on the quiz.

Which skill did you find the most useful?

I found it useful to learn how to create a quiz because now I can use quizzes as a way of future learning.

TERM 4
Book Trailer Task

Your task is to create an eye-catching Book Trailer that will promote your book to other students.
Use images, video, animation, music and words to create your book trailer. Try to use copyright friendly sources. Your presentation should be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.

GOAL : To recognise and interpret the main themes of a story by creating a short book trailer which promotes the book.



Reflection

What did you enjoy most about this task?

I enjoyed looking for music because we got to test lots of diiferent and exciting tunes and we got to see if they would fit with the theme of our

Book Trailer.


What was your biggest challenge?

Our biggest challenge was finding the Hunger Games images on

Flickr because it was very difficult and most of the images that

we found wernt related to our Book Trailer.


What skills did you learn during this task?

I learnt how to use Freeplay Music and how to do some

different effects on Windows Moviemaker.
